My name is Cindy Johnson and I'm the owner and operator of Just Fur A While Pet Services in San Antonio, Texas.
I've been a lifelong pet lover. I grew up with dogs, cats, finches, rabbits, ducks, a goat, and even a rat at one point. My career in pet care began in the summer of 2005. At the time, my husband and I were the proud pet parents of three dogs (black Labs), and two cats. People in our lives knew how much we cared about them, as we'd often talk about our pets as if they were our children. A coworker of mine needed pet care, and she was having trouble finding someone she could trust. Knowing my love for pets, she asked me if I'd consider caring for hers. I was more than happy to, and we agreed upon a fair rate. Being able to help someone while at the same time doing something I've always had a passion for was eye-opening. It made me realize the value of having someone you can count on to care for your furry loved ones. The rest, as they say, is history.
As a fellow pet parent, I know how difficult it can be to find someone you trust to care for your pets. I truly enjoy being able to provide loving, reliable pet care. You can rest assured that your pets will receive all the love and attention that they're used to.
Hello! My name is Danielle. I'm originally from Oregon. Getting a job caring for pets ignited a passion in me. Even though I didn't grow up with pets, I now love caring for pups of all shapes, sizes, and ages. I've learned all about different breeds, their personalities, dog language, and dog safety. Eventually I felt ready to adop my first dog, Amia. We went through many trials and tribulations, but our experiences together made me a better pet parent and advocate. My pet family has grown, and I now have two dogs and two cats. Since I don't have children, fur babies are my world.
When I turned 25, I moved from Oregon to San Antonio. Joining Cindy and her team in 2021 has been a huge blessing. I love being someone who people trust to watch over their pets. I view all our of clients' pets as family, and I hope to meet your furry family members soon!
Hello! I'm Rachel. I'm from Houston and am about to graduate from UTSA! I'm from a family of animal lovers, and have been the forever home for cats, dogs, hens, aquatics, and some "creepy crawlies" (my ball python and a Madagascar hissing roach). I just can't stop there, though, and have been fostering rescued cats and kittens since I was young, and am currently on foster dog number three and counting! I joined Just Fur A While in July of 2022, and when I'm not visiting my many honorary family members (aka our clients' furry kids), at school, or working with kiddos within the realm of child advocacy, you'll find me snuggled up with my own fuzzy babies (or my one scaley baby) with a good book or show!
My name is Marissa, and I'm a San Antonio native currently attending UTSA. My family has a dog named Gunner, but during the pandemic I adopted my first dog Rex (or "Rexy"). We've spent a lot of time bonding together, and words can't express how much he means to me! He made me realize just how much I love being around animals, so I began volunteering at the San Antonio Humane Society. It wasn't long after that when I heard about Just Fur A While!
I began working for Just Fur A While during the holiday season (the busiest time of the year), and quickly grew to love all the different personalities of our clients' pets. I've been eager to learn as much as I can. When I'm not studying or pet sitting, chances are I'm hiking local trails (often with Rexy), reading thriller novels, baking desserts, or visiting plant nurseries around town.
Hello, I'm Victoria and I joined Just Fur A While in March of 2023. I've always had a special love for animals since I was little, and I'm excited to be a part of a team that shares my passion. I previously worked at the San Antonio Humane Society for about two years, both before and during the pandemic. That's where I learned so much more about animal handling and care above what I already knew from growing up with dogs and cats my whole life. I'm currently attending school at St. Phillip's College, where I'm working towards obtaining a degree as an Ultrasound Tech. I grew up here in San Antonio, and I enjoy getting the opportunity to visit more of the city while also taking care of pets.
My name is Ruth. I grew up having dogs and I cannot remember a time where there hasn't been at least one dog in my life. I'm grateful my parents raised me as an animal lover. I've worked with different animal rescue organizations, and most of my pets in my adult life have been rescues. I'm currently blessed to have two pets in my life. Ten years ago I adopted Freddie, a senior mini Poodle, and during the great Texas freeze of 2021 I found Luna, a stray kitten who decided to adopt me. Joining Cindy's team has been a dream come true. It makes my heart happy being around pets and looking after them! I also love reading, hiking, swimming, videogames, anime, and manga .
Hi! My name is Jordyn and I was born and raised in San Antonio. I'm currently attending UTSA where I'm majoring in psychology and minoring in film studies. I joined Just Fur A While in May of 2024. I only had a cat growing up but I've always loved dogs, and that's why I started volunteering at SNIPSA adoption events when I was in high school. I loved helping pups of all ages and sizes find their forever home! Eventually, through a friend of mine, I heard about Just Fur A While and I knew this would be the perfect job for me! I love learning new things and this job has allowed me many opportunities for growth, but most of all I've enjoyed getting to know and better understand the pets we care for. When I'm not checking on our clients' furry kiddos, chances are I'm shopping for used DVDs and vinyl, watching movies, or playing bass.
Hi, I'm Gina! I've done a little bit of everything, including finance, retail, wellness, and childcare. I have a Dachshund-Maltese named Roger who I trained to communicate with talking buttons. This process taught me just how much our fur babies truly comprehend about our world and therefore deepened my connection with all animals. Working with Just Fur A While has been incredibly fulfilling for me. The pure joy that is exchanged at every visit is unmatched! When I'm not working, I love to visit dog parks with Roger, explore holistic lifestyle modalities, and lead guided meditations at a local yoga studio. I can't wait to meet your fur babies!
Barrett - Daily Dog Walking
I love animals... they are my absolute passion!! Pets have been a part of me my entire life. My four little rescue dachshunds PROUDLY own me. Macy, Jody, Parker, and Lucas give me so much joy! I can truly say that the LOVE I have for animals is immeasurable. I am a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi (HOTTY TODDY!!) and have been a stay-at-home mom my whole life. I am without a doubt a very proud mother of two precious boys that currently attend Texas Tech University (GUNS UP!!) This next chapter in my life is going to be dedicated to my furbabies. I honestly cannot imagine doing anything else. So of course, I absolutely love pet sitting. Not only will I take extremely good care of your babies, I will love em to pieces!! Woof woof, meow meow!!! I thank the Lord for each beautiful day!!!
Lindsey - Pet Sitting & Overnights
My name is Lindsey and when I'm not pet sitting, I work as a Wildlife Caretaker at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. I've always loved animals ever since I could remember. It's been my dream and destiny to work with all types of animals. My family and some friends think I'm a little crazy working with animals, especially the exotics. But I say they are just missing out. I've had "pet" snails, lizards, hamsters, fish, rabbits, tortoises, and dogs. My first dog, Nala, was rescued off the street by my dad when I was about 13 years old and she was the love of my life. She was truly my best friend, and will never be replaced. Currently I have two dogs, Chance and Gizmo, who I also rescued and adopted. They are quite the handful but I love them. While I mostly work with wildlife, my heart still melts anytime I see a puppy or kitten. So pet sitting is perfect for me, because I get to spend time with my other loves in life. I hope to one day open my own non-profit for animals in need, wild and domestic.
Taylor - Pet Sitting & Overnights
My name is Taylor and I started working as a pet sitter with Bed & Biscuit in 2013. I started my career with animals while in high school in 2002 at my family's veterinary office. I was a kennel technician, caring for the canine and feline boarders. I quickly fell in love with both our furry patients as well as their owners. Becoming a Veterinary Technician was a natural choice for me, and I continued working in the veterinary field while attending the University of North Texas and after graduation in 2007. From 2003-2009, I gained experience as a Vet Tech in preventative health care, laboratory and diagnostics, dental and surgical services, and emergency veterinary care. While working as a Vet Tech, I was able to pet sit for many of our clients who preferred not to board their animals when they left home. I have experience with a variety of different situations, including families with multiple pets, pets who require medications and/or special diet, puppies and kittens who had to be fed in 2 hour intervals, and even an iguana named ImaJean Threadgoode who loved to play in warm bath water! I know there is a special bond between people and their pets and I want to be sure to always give the highest quality care to your special loved ones. I know it is never easy to leave your pets when you are away! However, as pet sitters, we can always make sure that your pet maintains his or her normal routine and receives plenty of love and care while you're away.
Sunshine - Vacation Visits & Overnights
My name is Sunshine and I love all animals, big and small. I've volunteered at a number of animal organizations, including the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, Ohio. I've recently started the process of volunteering at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation here in Texas. My ultimate life goal is to one day open my own no-kill animal shelter. I have experience with both large and small animals. I'm the mother of two cats and two dogs – a 55 lb mixed breed, and a 150 lb St. Bernard. All of my babies play an important role in my life. My St. Bernard is currently going to school to become a therapy dog. I myself have graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with both my Bachelors and Masters degree.
Being a pet owner, I understand the importance of keeping a pet's routine the same, and I'm happy to be a part of a team that understands this. We know how important pets are to a family, and I can't wait to start pet sitting yours.
Sarah - Pet Sitting & Daily Dog Walking
Ever since I can remember, I've loved all types of animals. I've volunteered at a local equestrian center and most recently for Animal Care Services. Over the past two years, I've fostered 12 dogs and helped all of them find loving homes. And of course, one of them is still with me because I simply fell in love with him. Fostering animals has been one of the most fulfilling things I've done. In the same manner that I've cared for foster animals, I will lovingly take care of your pets. I know they're a part of your family and they deserve the very best care! I'll give them tender loving care as if they were my own.
Dakota - Pet Sitting & Daily Dog Walking
Hello! My name is Dakota. I started working at Bed & Biscuit Pet Care in 2014. My passion for working with and being around animals began as a child, and has only grown from there. I've been fortunate to have a variety of different pets while growing up - dogs, turtles, fish, guinea pigs, and birds. Since moving to San Antonio in 2012, my husband and I adopted a wonderful rescue dog, Bear. We've also fostered numerous dogs through Animal Control Services and San Antonio Pets Alive, finding each a loving and forever home. I only hope to continue my love for animals as I'm currently attending college to obtain my Vet Assistant certification. I understand how important pets are, and how each is a member of the family. I always take pride in my work and will provide the best care, love, and attention I can while caring for your pets.
Lacy - Pet Sitting, Daily Dog Walking, & Overnights
Hello everyone! I just want to say that it gives me peace knowing that on a daily basis I get the opportunity to walk, play with, and care for pets. When you're living out your passion, it isn't work! I graduated from Texas State University and I really love San Antonio. I'm the proud parent of two Schnauzers (Dani and Bo) and one Yorkie (Rocco). My fur kids make me smile every day, and I'm grateful for the constant love they give. Whether I'm gone for five hours or five minutes, they're just as happy to see me walk through the door. In turn, I give my fur kids unconditional love and attention, and I will assure you that same level of attention will be given to your furry family members as well!
Clare - Daily Dog Walking & Overnights
I absolutely love all animals, it is definitely my passion in life! I went to St. Lawrence University in upstate New York and graduated with a degree in Biology and Environmental Studies. I have a varied experience with animals - from my work in Arkansas at a big cat sanctuary, to working as a Veterinary Technician, and now with my job in animal rescue, working to save the dogs and cats that come into the city animal shelter. I often foster dogs and on my free time I love spending time outdoors whether it be hiking, camping, swimming, or exploring different local towns in the area! Pet sitting is a natural fit for me and it's so rewarding to take to care of others' pets, and making sure they are comfortable and happy until you get home!
Vicki - Dog Walking
I'm Vicki, and I've always loved meeting new furry friends. After moving to Texas, I decided to do something that I truly enjoy - working with pets. I believe all of our pets truly become family members and we should be willing to improve their quality of life whenever possible. My husband and I have two rescue dogs at home: Jaeger (a German Shepherd) and Logan (a Dachshund), so I understand how important your pets are to you too. I'm so happy to be a part of Bed & Biscuit Pet Care and have the opportunity to help care for your fur babies.
Heather - Pet Sitting
Hi, my name is Heather. I'm a Texas native, and I recently graduated with my BBA. Animals are a very important part of my life, and I love being able to meet new dogs and cats to love on and take care of! I have three dogs: Sandy is a 14 year old Labrador mix, Cassie is a 8 year old Papillon mix, and Harley is a 6 year old terrier mix. I love all of them and treat them like they are my children. The unconditional love that all animals provide us with is a huge reason why I return the favor to them, and it gives me so much joy to be able to do so as a job.
Lindsey - Pet Sitting

My first dog, Nala, was rescued off the street by my dad when I was about 13 years old and she was the love of my life. She was truly my best friend, and will never be replaced. I love spending time with pets, and realize that when your pet is well cared for, it eases your mind so much. I believe that Cindy has done a wonderful job, and we all go above and beyond for our clients' pets. They're an extension of our families, and we give them the best care and love that we can!
Christy - Cat Sitting
My name is Christy. I'm a mother of two children (Mark and Michael), and I was an orchestra teacher in the public school system for 15 years. While I still teach private music lessons, I enjoy getting to meet people's pets and love on them. I've had cats and dogs in my home since I was a child. For years, I worked with the Animal Defense League as a foster pet parent. Currently, I have the two dogs and two cats. I absolutely love animals!
Jonathan - Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
Hello, my name is Jonathan! I was raised with (and partly by) dogs, and have been a cat owner since 2005. My relationship with Bed & Biscuit Pet Care started a little over a year ago when I hired them to look after my cat, Tupac. At that time, I was working in the oil field and spent the better part of each month in West Texas. In March of 2016, I was laid off from my job, but it wasn't long before Bed & Biscuit Pet Care offered to "adopt" me as a pet sitter and a dog walker. This opportunity has been perfect for me. As a lifelong pet owner, I have accumulated approximately 25 years of experience with dogs and roughly 10 years of experience with cats. I love animals, and consider myself to be both a "dog person" and a "cat person." Whatever their size, shape, breed, or species might be, I can assure you that your furry companions will be in the best of hands while under my care.
Heather - Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
Hello, I'm Heather. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before joining Bed & Biscuit Pet Care in 2016, I worked as a Vet Tech, a Leasing Manager, and a Special Services Coordinator at the Culinary Institute of America. I consider myself a foodie as well as a passionate photographer and musician. Animals have also been a big part of my life, of course. My husband and I currently have two miniature long-haired dachshunds, Shorty and Thor. As a pet owner, I understand that pets who are well-loved bring balance and happiness to their owners' lives. They're an important part of your family, and I truly enjoy being able to provide the care they deserve. Your pets will be in good hands, and I look forward to meeting them!
Mandy - Pet Sitting
My name is Mandy, and as you might of guessed I love animals. My passion is to take care of animals of all kinds. I was a groomer for 8 years and loved it. I wanted to learn more about animals, though, so I decided to work at a veterinary hospital. I am now a veterinary assistant and will soon be training to become a vet tech. I have 3 babies of my own - a Boston terrier named Wednesday, a Chihuahua named Halo, and a hedgehog named Bam Bam. I am looking forward to being your pet's new best friend.
Katie - Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
Hi, my name is Katie. I'm originally from Chicago and I've been a huge animal lover my whole life. I donate food to animal shelters, help out with the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition, and I also feed feral cat colonies. I've owned dogs all my life, and I've recently taken in a few cats as well! I have a huge soft spot for animals, and I think being a pet owner is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have in life. Some of my other passions are holistic medicine, being environmentally friendly, and supporting organic local farmers markets. I treat your pets as if they are my own, and always look forward to meeting each unique pet!
Jerry - Cat Sitting
Hi, my name is Jerry. I grew up in Miami and served in the US Navy. My family always had dogs or cats, and I was an animal lover from a very early age. While living in my first apartment I adopted a puppy. I loved that dog for 15 wonderful years. When he passed, I was devastated. Within a few months, however, a kitten began showing up on my doorstep every night. I fed her and noticed that every morning she would be sleeping in a makeshift bed I had made for her. She had no collar or ID of any kind, and after a week went by I realized she probably had no owner. So I decided to take her in. From that moment on, I knew I had found my forever friend. Shortly after that I got another kitten, and my love of cats grew stronger by the day. That was almost 25 years ago. Since then, I've had as many as eight cats at one time. I now have two and I love them to death. I couldn't imagine life without them. I've always been a passionate animal lover, but cats hold a special place in my heart. I've fed many feral colonies through the years, and even adopted some of them from time to time. When I joined the team at Just Fur A While, I knew I found my place taking care of the sweet cats that are part of our clients' families. I can assure you that your kitties will be as well cared-for as my own.
Hailee - Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
My name is Hailee and I'm a huge animal lover! I've grown up around dogs my whole life, and seen just about every personality out there. I have two dogs of my own, Koda, a Jack Russel, and Daisee, a Pitbull, who couldn't be more different. I was born in Arizona, and previously lived in North Carolina, before moving to San Antonio in 2017. Currently, I attend San Antonio College and hope to pursue a degree in the arts. I am looking forward to being able to spend my time caring for people's pets and giving them the love they deserve!
Courtney - Pet Sitting
Hello, my name is Courtney. I'm from a small town in Alabama, close to Mobile. I recently moved to San Antonio in April 2019. Growing up, I have had numerous pets, including dogs, cats, scorpions, a praying mantis, etc. I've also had dogs that required special attention, inlcuding a dog I worked with to help with his extreme anxiety. I've always had a love for all animals, and at one point considered pursuing a career as a vetinarian. Currently, I'm a rural mail carrier in Marion, just northeast of San Antonio. Some of my other hobbies include baking, and D&D. I am extremely excited to not only learn more about this amazing city I moved to, but to also give your pets the utmost care and attention while you're away.
Monica - Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
Hi there! My name is Monica. I recently just moved to Texas from North Dakota. I currently own a 1 year old English Cream Golden Retriever named Rylee. My love for dogs started when my parents got me my first dog at the age of 5. Since then, I've grown up with many dogs and cats. I previously worked at a ranch during high school caring for livestock, and also volunteered at a no-kill shelter. Aside from my job, I would care for dogs and provide boarding, feeding, grooming, walking, and of course play time! I love all animals and think they're such an important part of any family. Each pet has their own personality and style, and through my experience I've learned how to adapt to exactly what a pet needs and wants. I hope to give you peace of mind knowing your furry friends will be in good hands being loved and adored!
Mayela - Pet Sitting
My name is Mayela, and I'm a San Antonio native. I graduated from Madison High school and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with an Accounting degree. I am currently a tax accountant at Becton Dickinson and Company.
I've had a dog in my household for as long as I can remember. Once I graduated and moved into a place of my own, I began fostering dogs for SA ROCKS. I have now lived with a variety of dogs, from Chihuahuas to Rottweilers with ages ranging from newborn puppies to seniors. I finally made the decision to adopt one of my fosters named Emery. It wasn't long before I ended up also fostering Emery's mom and her entire litter! In July of 2022, I welcomed another member of the family--a baby boy! He and the pups are the best of friends, and they like showering him with kisses. I love having pets as part of our family, and I can't wait to meet yours!
Nora - Dog Walking
I'm Nora. I love being active, especially outdoors. One of my favorite hobbies is trail running. I Iove being in the woods and being able to see and interact with animals. I would love to meet and help take care of your fur-babies!

Hello, I'm Patricia. I'm a native Texan, and have been married to my high-school sweetheart for over 30 years. We became empty nesters in 2008, and I decided to start fostering and helping rescues in my free time. I've helped foster pets and transport them to sister rescues out of state. My husband and I have fostered over 25 pets, and have personally provided two of them with a "forever home". I was previously a lifelong hospitality/restaurant service worker. Beth - Office Manager / Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
Hi, I'm Beth. I've been a team member since 2017. You'll often hear me on the other end of the phone if you call us. I also answer emails, do client onboarding, and create pet memorial collages, in addition to caring for many of our clients' pets. I recently accompanied Cindy to the annual Texas Pet Sitters Conference. I love learning new things, especially when it involves expanding my knowledge of pets and pet care.
I'm originally from Minnesota, but moved to Texas with my husband Tommy to escape the long, bitter winters up there. We have two kids, Nik and Courtney, as well as three precious fur babies, Tuna, Flair, and our newest addition - an adorable kitten named Vega. I've taken care of pets most of my life. I also love sports, reading, scrapbooking, making cards, and rooting for two my favorite teams, The Vikings and The Cowboys.
Kate - Dog Walking and Pet Sitting
Hello! My name is Kate and I've been a part of the Just Fur A While team since May of 2023. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved all types of animals. From growing up with my two childhood cats Tiger and Ginger, to adopting my very own kitties Jinx and Juniper, I realized how much of a passion for animals I had. I would often volunteer with one of my mom's friends at animal shelters for both cats and dogs, and I would take care of her 20+ cats whenever she was away. When I heard about Just Fur A While I knew it would be a perfect fit for me! I love seeing all the different pets we get to visit and take care of, and building relationships with them is the best part of my day!
